LIGHT
Making of Form and Order
The objective of this project is to design a proposed non-denominational chapel on the campus of Farmingdale State College. The college wants this to be a place where anybody can practice their own religion. This project needed to be achieved by the creative use of light. Different techniques requires this project to control the entrance of light into the building. Curved surface are used in the building so the light splashes and unique light patterns can be create.
Background Research
The Assembly Building's signature feature is its hyperbolic sculptural roof that extends beyond its base mass. The interplay of volumes, intervened by natural light, creates a harmonious contrast. Details like the strategic use of natural light and the positioning of office spaces contribute to the building's lasting appeal.

Site Plan and Sorting
My decision about where to place my site is base on the analysis of campus circulation and the sun angles that we discuss on class. The reason I chose this site is because there is not a building on the South so the sun comes directly from the South.
Another reason why I chose the site for the Chapel is because since it is at the entrance of the college I think it will attract the attention of new religious and spiritual students that the campus has a space for faith.
